This fun and informative handbook is packed with age-appropriate information for cub scouts who are approaching crossover to Scouts.  It covers outdoorsmanship, first-aid, US citizenship and history, family and religious reverence, and more.  It contains very detailed information that’s relevant to the Scouting journey.

Rank

The goal of every Webelos Cub is to attain the Webelos Rank.  Upon completion of the rank, the Webelos Cub will receive the badge at a formal award ceremony and receive recognition by the entire troop leadership, adult partners, the entire cub scout pack and scout troop.  It will truly be a red letter day to remember!  Attaining rank requires completing the 6 required adventures:

Personal Safety

My Family
Family & Reverence

Webelos Walkabout

Attaining rank also requires completing any 2 of the elective adventures.  Pick whichever ones that interest you the most.

Religious Emblem

During the program, Webelos are expected to work towards achieving their Religious Medal.  For our Jewish Webelos, this is the Aleph Emblem.

  1. Download the requirements for whichever emblem you’re working on.
  2. Make an appointment with your Rabbi.  Explain that you’d like to work with him on the religious emblem requirements.
  3. Send him a copy of the requirements.
  4. Work with your rabbi till the requirements are done.
  5. When complete, the adult partner should download and fill out the application and attach the fees indicated on the form.

We feel the emblem requirements will not be much of a challenge, especially for cubs going to Yeshiva, so we encourage doing more and delving deeper.  Take this as an opportunity to explore things that interest you about Judaism with your Rabbi.

When you complete the emblem requirements, you have also completed all the requirements for the required adventure My Family (Family & Reverence) as a bonus: two awards for the requirements of one!

Lastly, you don’t need to wait for the den to work on the religious emblem.  You can begin working on it any time you like.
